This Atlanta Bed and Breakfast and furnished short term rental is located in Virginia Highland, Atlanta’s premier pedestrian neighborhood. This intown area is known for its restored 1920s Craftsman Bungalows, unique shops, restaurants, entertainment, parks and its proximity to Atlanta attractions.
The bed & breakfast was an idea born out of a 1995 house fire. The 1919 Craftsman Bungalow duplex was then restored to its original charm and opened as a bed & breakfast in time to host international guests and athletes for the 1996 Summer Olympics. For 20 years it has continued hosting tourists, business travelers, and production crews.
Adele is the owner and innkeeper, a Chicago native and avid Master Gardener. In 2006 her gardens were designated an Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary as well as featured on the Georgia Native Plant Society garden tour. Her classic seven-circuit labyrinth is listed on the World Wide Labyrinth Project. And in 2012 her bungalow home was part of the distinctive Virginia Highland Tour of Homes.
A home cooked, full breakfast is prepared in the sunny old fashioned kitchen with the original high back sink and served in the beautiful formal dinning room. The menu includes Challah style French toast, double cheese omelet, salmon scramble, Georgia pecan waffles or vegetable quiche, plus lively conversation!
This bed & breakfast is also available to rent as the Hideaway - a private, furnished, two bedroom, two bath, apartment home with living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry.
